Birding Tour Uganda: Shelley's Crimsonwing Expedition, RFCG conservation tour 2017

This is a Rafe Finch Conservation Group conservation trip.
Ten percent of the tour costs will be donated to the RFCG.

We would like to try and get photos and sound recordings of Shelley’s Crimsonwing, one of Africa’s rarest finches. We plan to be as close as possible to the sites we feel are best for the species. We would like to try and get publicity for this rare species (which will hopefully help its conservation). The trip will naturally also look at other bird and finch species in the area, but our main focus will be to try to find and see the vulnerable and elusive Shelley’s Crimsonwing.

More about the two Birding Ecotours options linked to the exciting Shelley’s Crimsonwing Expedition:
You can join a birding and primate tour of Uganda from August 1 – 19 before the Shelley’s Crimsonwing Expedition starts, and/or you can join a Namibia, Botswana, Victoria Falls birding and wildlife safari after it. Details of both trips are at Birding Tour Uganda: 14-day Shoebill and Albertine Rift Endemics 2017 and/or Birding Tour Namibia: Namibia, Okavango, and Victoria Falls 2017.
Please note that while the latter trip is usually run later in the year, if we get at least four participants, we will add another departure of this trip from 1 – 18 September 2016.

What our clients say

In the fall of 2011 my wife and I did a 28 day bird watching tour of South Africa with Birding Ecotours. Birding Ecotours was recommended by our Canadian agent, Tours of Exploration. Both of our driver/guides were excellent and our group of 5 saw well over 500 species of birds and over 60 species of animals as well as a large number of amazing endemic plants. The tours were well planned and run and came off without a hitch. The guides were very patient and accommodating and allowed us to change the schedule when we were in areas of great interest. Along with showing us the amazing natural history of South Africa our guides also explained the cultural history which made the trip special. We hope that we will have the opportunity to will travel with Birding Ecotours again in the near future.
